Commercial and private space systems, especially for space tourism, not unexpectedly are looking at the least costly designs to fly. However, in the long run, static systems, especially space tourist space stations and long duration orbital platforms, will be far more costly. When, not if, a significant problem occurs in an individual, the cost to junk these systems and eventually, after lengthy delay and redesign to artificial gravity systems, will exact a toll in the billions or trillions for federal, private, and commercial financial structures. Initial costs will be higher with AG, but long term costs will be lower.
